New Awareness Materials From Transport Canada on TDG Client Identification Database 

Transport Canada is providing a host of additional awareness and guidance materials for industry on its new Client Identification Database.  

The new registration database is for persons or organizations involved in DG activities. CID will allow persons or organizations to register and will collect information about their activities involving dangerous goods.  Registration for qualifying organizations is required by October 25, 2024.   To determine if your organization needs to register, click hereto take a short survey.

CID will be used by Transport Canada to better assess risk, enhance overall safety measures, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration between Transport Canada and registered persons or organizations.

CID Video – Presentation on Part 17 

The presentation explains why Part 17 – Site Registration Requirements and the associated registration platform (Client Identification Database) have been created and gives further details on the definition of a site and the exemptions related to the registration. This video can be shared with persons and organizations to help them determine if they must register their site(s).
