Leinfelden‑Echterdingen – The Franconian travel provider Lyst‑Reisen, based in Zellingen, is pushing ahead with its fleet modernisation thanks to 16 new Mercedes‑Benz Citaro buses. The new fleet will enter regular service in and around Würzburg from 1 September 2024. Sinisa Ristic from Mercedes‑Benz Buses Sales handed over the 11 solo vehicles and five articulated buses to the Lyst‑Reisen Managing Director, Stefan Lyding and Junior Manager, Marcel Lyding on 9th August 2024 in Neu-Ulm.
The Citaro modular principle
The current delivery highlights the impressive speed at which the bus company Lyst‑Reisen is bringing its fleet up to date. With this new acquisition, Lyst has procured a total of 55 Mercedes‑Benz Citaro city buses in just three years. The company’s main focus is on functionality and economy – areas where the Citaro has proven its worth for decades as a tried-and-tested modular concept. Combined with a high degree of customisation and a comprehensive range of services, the Citaro is the new foundation on which the fleet at Lyst‑Reisen is being built.
As in the past, the newly acquired equipment has been customised in keeping with the Lyst‑Reisen commercial fleet. The Franconian bus company’s 16 new Citaro city buses feature a comfortably equipped driver’s workplace, complete with a high safety-glass pane on the protective driver’s door. The safety package includes Sideguard Assist 2, Traffic Sign Assist, Attention Assist (AtAs), Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM), and entry and ambient lighting at door 1.
The air-conditioning system can be controlled separately for the driver’s workplace and the passenger compartment. CCTV covers the payment point at door 1, the entry area at door 2, and the passenger compartment. For the interior design, Lyst‑Reisen has opted for high-contrast accents to create a fresh interior. The colour of the yellow-green handrails matches the pattern in the upholstery fabrics. Wood-effect PVC flooring was chosen for the floor. The passenger information system is displayed via 18.5‑inch TFT monitors. Furthermore, Lyst‑Reisen provides free Wi-Fi in all vehicles.
