New Jersey-based NFI has acquired MCO Transport, Inc, a provider of port service solutions in the southeastern United States. With the acquisition, NFI expands its port solutions and export drayage services with locations in Wilmington, North Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; Charleston, South Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; and Atlanta.
Established in 1976, MCO Transport is a family-owned business specializing in container drayage services and headquartered in Wilmington, North Carolina. Alongside its container drayage offerings, the company operates a wide array of transportation and warehousing solutions including domestic truckload and specialized commodities between its strategically positioned terminals in the Southeast ports.
A statement. from NFI said the addition of MCO Transport enhances NFI’s network in the Southeast and enhances the offering to new and existing customers.

The acquisition also allows us to bring value to our customers by expanding our presence in the Southeast during a time when our customers are looking to diversify their port strategy.
Since its acquisition of California Cartage Company in 2017, NFI has become a leader in the port drayage industry, providing capacity to its customers through most major port terminals in the United States and Canada. In 2021, the company inked a deal with the Georgia Ports Authority to operate a new transload and cross-docking facility in Savannah, opening in 2023.
Wreaths Across America seeks drivers, fleets
Lanes are currently open across the country to support the delivery of sponsored veterans’ wreaths to participating Wreaths Across America (WAA) locations this December.
Carriers and truck drivers are needed to join the Honor Fleet and help the national nonprofit fulfill its mission to “Remember, Honor, Teach” with the delivery of live, balsam veterans’ wreaths to their destination — one of more than 3,500 participating locations across the country — where volunteers will place the wreaths on the headstones of American heroes.

This year, WAA transportation partners will assist in delivering more than 2.5 million veterans’ wreaths to be placed on the graves of fallen heroes all over the country on National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, Dec. 17. Transportation partners who join as volunteers will become a part of WAA’s Honor Fleet.
