A truck driver was arrested over the weekend after agents discovered 30 duffel bags filled with marijuana just sitting in his sleeper.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 10th at the Peace Bridge near Buffalo, New York.
According to Buffalo News, authorities discovered 30 duffel bags filled with marijuana in the truck driver’s sleeper during an inspection as he attempted to enter the country from Canada.
The 1,139 vacuum sealed bags weighed in at more than 1,200 pounds.
When questioned about the bags, truck driver Xiao Liu claimed that “it was his friend’s belongings and he was taking them to Buffalo, New York.”
Liu has since been taken into custody.
