Bridgestone Americas Inc. has expanded its Ecopia commercial truck tire line with the introduction of the Bridgestone R213 Ecopia.
“The new tire is engineered to reduce operating costs by delivering ultra-high fuel efficiency, the highest ever offered on a Bridgestone long-haul steer tire, in combination with significant improvements in wear performance,” say Bridgestone officials.
“Today’s fleets are running their trucks longer and farther, making it critical to get maximum performance out of every tire purchase,” says Kyle Chen, brand manager, truck and bus radial tires, U.S. and Canada, Bridgestone Americas.
“The new Bridgestone R213 Ecopia tire harnesses major innovations in both materials and design to deliver smarter, more sustainable tire performance. This translates to a better bottom line through the tire’s exceptional wear life and outstanding fuel efficiency.”
The R213 Ecopia features directional edge sipes for enhanced scrub resistance and up to 15% more mileage than the previous-generation Bridgestone R284 Ecopia.
It also boasts a redesigned tread pattern paired with an innovative compound for weight reduction and improved fuel efficiency.
Other features include a four-rib tread design with Bridgestone’s patented NanoPro-Tech polymer, which limits energy loss; a Bridgestone Intellishape sidewall design containing less bead filler volume; center rib sipes for optimal water evacuation and improved traction on wet surfaces; a redesigned “defense side groove” for improved wear resistance; and directional, stress-relief sipes to absorb shoulder edge forces in the tire’s footprint.
The R213 Ecopia is SmartWay-verified and will be offered in eight variations – with four sizes, plus two load ranges per size – throughout the United States and Canada.
