Truck tire anomaly sensors and thermal brake cameras now deployed at several Wyoming ports of entry

The Wyoming Highway Patrol’s (WHP) Commercial Carrier Division announced that technology designed to help detect commercial vehicle tire or brake defects has been installed at several locations within the state.

In a November 23 release, WHP said that Tire Anomaly Sensors and Brake Thermal Imaging cameras have been installed at several ports of entry. The locations where the technology is now in use was not disclosed.

WHP says that the technology allows troopers to identity unsafe trucks “before brake malfunctions and/or blown tires.

Troopers also shared several images that show how the tire and brake defect detection technology works. “As you can see from the pictures, the systems are working well and have found several flat tires, including 3 on one vehicle,” WHP said.

WHP also reminded truckers to complete their pre-trip inspections and drive safely.
