Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 supplies Munich Oktoberfest with around 82,000 liters of beer and fresh pretzels

Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Munich – The Oktoberfest started in Munich on September 21 and, as every year, the demand for beer is particularly high at this time. During these days, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 was able to contribute to the supply of the tent and supplied the Wiesn with around 82,000 liters of beer and fresh pretzels.

Lettl Transportation GmbH supplies for the Hofbräuhaus Munich

Over the night-time, Lettl Transportation delivered beer for the state-owned Hofbräuhaus Brewery Munich. The eActros 600 with tank semitrailer and a volume of 27,500 liters was used for this purpose. As part of a practical test at the customer’s premises, the electric truck sets off towards Theresienwiese within three days, each evening, after being filled in the brewery. The truck had to stop at four stations at the Hofbräu tent to get the beer in the right barrels.

Fresh pretzels of Höflinger Müller GmbH

In addition to delivering beer, the eActros 600 was also used for the Oktoberfest delivery of pretzels. The Höflinger and Müller bakery produces pretzels in two shifts at an extra bakery on the Olympic terrain close to the Oktoberfest, so that they can then be served fresh from the oven.

The traditional company, which already has two eActros 300 in its fleet, used the long-distance electric truck from Mercedes-Benz with refrigerated semitrailer for the transportation of the baking blanks.

Höflinger and Müller are also currently delivering pretzels to the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart and rely on their Mercedes-Benz trucks for this purpose.

About the eActros 600

The eActros 600 for long-distance haulage celebrated its world premiere end of 2023. The high battery capacity of over 600 kilowatt hours1 – hence the model designation 600 – and a new, particularly efficient electric drive axle developed in-house enable the electric truck to achieve a range of 500 kilometers2 without intermediate charging. This range is accomplished under very realistic and practical conditions with a gross combination mass of 40 tons, and can also be significantly exceeded depending on the driving style and route. The eActros 600 will even be able to cover well over 1,000 kilometers per day. Intermediate charging during statutory driver breaks – even without megawatt charging – makes this possible, provided that charging options are available. In addition to CCS charging with up to 400 kW, the eActros 600 will later also enable megawatt charging (MCS).

Visually, the long-haul electric truck is characterized by a fundamentally new, minimalist design with clear lines and an aerodynamic shape. In terms of profitability for fleet operators, the electric truck will set new standards and replace the majority of diesel trucks in the important long-distance transport segment in the long term. The core of the Mercedes-Benz Trucks concept for battery-powered long-distance haulage is to offer customers a holistic transportation solution comprising vehicle technology, consulting, a charging infrastructure, and services with the new TruckCharge brand. Mercedes-Benz Trucks will celebrate the start of series production of the eActros 600 at the end of November this year at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth. The first eActros 600 customer vehicles will be manufactured and registered before the end of 2024.
