Wörth am Rhein – The new Mercedes-Benz Actros L with aerodynamically improved ProCabin driver’s cab is ready for production and delivery: the first customer vehicle, the Actros L 1848 LS 4×2 colored in crystal green metallic, recently rolled off the production line at the Wörth plant. The new premium-class model from Mercedes-Benz Trucks has numerous features in the areas of safety, efficiency and comfort.
The highlights of the Actros L in detail
The Actros L is characterized by its futuristic vehicle design, optimized aerodynamics, many comfort features, economical engines, high driving dynamics and the latest assistance systems. The longer front end and other aerodynamic measures lead to fuel savings of up to 3 percent.
The optimized drivetrain now available for some models not only ensures a noticeably improved driving experience, especially when accelerating on inclines, and a lower manoeuvring speed, but also a quieter and more pleasant ride thanks to reduced cruising speed at 80 km/h. It also helps to reduce fuel consumption even further.
Flexible production of different drive types at the Wörth plant
Mercedes-Benz Trucks always aims to offer its customers the best vehicle solutions for all drive technologies. Diesel trucks will remain indispensable in the various regions of the world for some time to come. With the new Actros L, the manufacturer has further improved many aspects of its proven flagship. This is reflected from the outside in the revolutionary cab design.
The highly flexible production at the Wörth plant ensures the efficient manufacture of trucks with different drive types, integrated into one assembly line. Both trucks with a diesel drive and the battery-electric eActros 600 for long-distance transport can be flexibly and simultaneously scheduled for production. In this way, the plant is able to adapt quickly to market demand and reliably meet the demanding quality standards of Mercedes-Benz.
