Police said this is the second nut-related theft to have happened in the region
Waterloo regional police are investigating after a transport truck and trailer loaded with $70,000 worth of pistachios were stolen Saturday in Wilmot Township.
Police said an unknown suspect stole the trailer and transport truck from the yard of a business in the area of Foundry Street and Gingerich Road at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Police said this is the second nut-related theft in the region.
A similar theft happened in November 2023, where a transport truck and trailer containing walnuts were stolen from the yard of a business in the area of Eagle Street North and Hespeler Road in Cambridge.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
