STIRLING, Ont. -- The
Eastern Ontario Big Rig Truck Show and Shine, held annually in
Stirling, Ont., has undergone a name change. Henceforth, the event will
be known simply as the Stirling Truck Show.

Show chairman Dave Potts says this name better reflects what the show
is all about. “The Stirling truck show is simply about people and
trucking community having a good time,” Potts said in a release.
“Simple, clean, family, fun; these are words that describe the new
Stirling Truck Show.”
Show organizers have also announced that truck builders from the US
will be permitted to compete in the Big Rig Build-Off competition for
the first time in show history.
Organizers say that competitors in this year’s build-off suggested opening up the border to American contestants.
“Let’s have the best in world here so we can see how we stack up,” said
both Phil Langevin and Lee Howard, winners of the “TROSCAR” trophy at
the event this past summer.
The 2008 Stirling show will take place at the Stirling Fairgrounds June 13-15.
