Big Idaho Potato Truck crosses into Canada on its way to Alaska

After 11 years of exploring destinations in the U.S., the Big Idaho Potato Truck entered Canada on July 13.

The truck was on its to Skagway, Alaska, for the town’s first-ever Idaho Potato Day, set for July 22.

The Big Idaho Potato Truck began in 2012 as a one-year campaign to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission, rapidly gaining popularity and ensuring its continued role in helping to promote Idaho potatoes, according to a news release.

In a recent year, the truck visited more than 20 cities, traveled more than 10,000 miles and in the process helped dozens of charities better serve their communities, according to the Idaho Potato Commission.
