FLO Milestone: 100,000 Charging Stations Sold

The expanding North American network provides EV drivers with the best driving experience

QUEBEC CITY and AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 24, 2023 /CNW/ – FLO, a leading North American electric vehicle (EV) charging network operator and smart charging solutions provider, sold its 100,000th charging station. This announcement comes at a time of significant growth for FLO and the broader EV charging industry. This growth is driven by both the increasing demand for EVs and FLO’s commitment to a more robust and reliable charging infrastructure across North America.

The 100,000th charger sold was a FLO Home X5 unit that will be installed in Toronto by Ridgeline Electric. FLO’s highly acclaimed home chargers are 100% aluminum with a sleek design and stand up to harsh weather and unforgiving climates. The FLO Home line also recently received praise when tested by several independent experts.

“Since day 1, FLO has worked diligently to expand access to reliable EV charging solutions for the growing number of EV drivers on North American roadways,” said Louis Tremblay, FLO President and CEO. “This is a significant milestone, and I am incredibly proud of the entire FLO team. I eagerly look forward to the sale of our next 100,000 chargers and to continue providing the best charging experience to all EV drivers.”

EV adoption continues to increase in both Canada and the U.S., as EVs become more affordable for North American drivers. Meanwhile, the availability of public charging stations remains a top concern for drivers considering a switch to an EV. FLO continues to address this concern by providing access to a network of 75,000 public charging stations, with more on the way.

“My customers are looking for the most robust and reliable charger on the market and the FLO Home is the charger I recommend to them,” said Fab Farruggio, General Manager, Ridgeline Electric. “FLO chargers will work every time whether at home or on the road.”

FLO expanded its North American supply chain and production capabilities by opening a U.S.-based facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan – a key step in FLO’s mission to bring 250,000 chargers to the U.S. market by 2028. The Auburn Hills facility will produce the first line of the FLO Ultra charger beginning in early 2024.

“Expanding access is crucial, but nothing is more important than high reliability when it comes to EV charging,” added Tremblay. “When our customers pull up to a FLO station or plug in at home, they know it’s a charger they can depend on. It is not just about adding dots on a map, but a promise that drivers will be able to charge and go wherever they want.”

FLO’s 100,000 charging stations, deployed at public, private, and residential locations, enable more than 1.5 million charging events each month. The FLO network maintains a 98%+ uptime, and a recent evaluation report on the NYC DOT Curbside Level 2 EV Charging Pilot Program showed FLO curbside chargers maintained an uptime of more than 99% during the first 18 months.
