22 Daimler coaches for major Polish company Sindbad

Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Opole – Large order from Poland for Daimler Buses. Sindbad, one of the largest bus companies in the country, took possession of 22 Setra and Mercedes-Benz coaches. The company is continuing to expand its Setra fleet with twelve new Setra vehicles, including six S 531 DT double-decker coaches. And with its purchase of ten Mercedes-Benz Tourismo vehicles, Sindbad has chosen what has already been the most popular touring coach model in Poland for many years.

Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Services at Daimler Buses (left) handed over the symbolic key for the new vehicles to Ryszard Wójcik, Managing Director of Sindbad sp. z o. o.

At the handover, the Daimler Buses Sales Manager said: “The 40-year history of Sindbad is also characterized by 30 years of excellent collaboration with the Setra and Mercedes-Benz brands. The trust that you have placed in our products, for which we are extremely grateful, has been reflected in your success and certainly has also set high standards for bus and coach transportation in Poland and throughout Europe.”

The new coaches will compel the conversion of the entire fleet to vehicles with Euro VI engines. The coaches are equipped with the latest safety systems, including Active Drive Assist ADA 2. This system for partially automated driving is currently only available in Setra coaches. All the acquired vehicles are also equipped with 230V+USB sockets and Wi-Fi, which has been standard in the Sindbad fleet for a long time now.

Sindbad fleet with over 120 buses and coaches

Sindbad’s core business is the operation of international coach services. However, the Polish market leader also offers services in the travel, school transportation and excursions segments, as well as business travel. The Opole-based company employs just under 500 people, with the fleet now consisting of 121 buses and coaches – including 101 Setra and 19 Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
The Sindbad Group is currently setting up a modern service center, which will be authorized to service buses of the Mercedes-Benz and Setra brands.
