TravelCenters of America today announced it will break ground on one of the nation’s first publicly accessible, micro-grid powered medium-duty/heavy-duty truck charging stations this Wednesday.
The charging station will be installed at the company’s travel center in Ontario, California.
TA’s CEO Debi Boffa, with bp pulse CEO Sujay Sharma, and Commissioner Patricia Monahan, will conduct the official groundbreaking. The charging station, a pilot project in collaboration with the California Energy Commission, demonstrates bp’s commitment to support fleet customers transitioning to zero-tail pipe emission trucks, according to a statement from TravelCenters of America.
The truck charging station will include:

- A battery energy storage system
